Interior Paint Time

UPDATE: I have since repainted her a warmer yellowish color from Home Depot called Calm Air. I know, I know, us woman usually know what we want right away (insert sarcasm) but I noticed everyone who didn't have wood veneers were painting them white & off white so I decided I needed to be different! I did keep the benches the Cottage White, however to match the future moldings.
New color:

See?! I work! Its not all Mike LOL. The primer is just soaking up my beautiful Cottage White which is the name of my color. I still want the trailer to look vintage/antique. Its not a new trailer and it won't be decorated modern so I didn't want too bright, eye popping white. This keeps it light & airy but still warm like many of the knitted pillows that will be used in the decorating. Coming up next...time for the molding for seams and corners to give it a finished look. Then we will replace windows & add window molding.

The white primer is from Home Depot and is also sandable. So when we filled the holes from the staples and nails then we primered the whole thing, sanded it, then repeated a couple more times. This made the walls very, very smooth with no blemishes. (Note: The wainscoting is going on the walls where wrap around table & benches will be, however in the kitchen I'm installing the tin for a backsplash so we just used the flat board for that, flat for the ceiling, and flat in area that will be in the closet.)

  1. I used Cottage White on my entire house.I love it so much. Warm and sunny, yet goes with everything.I chose base white for my glamper, which I'm doing in red and white. I deliberated long and hard over whether it'd be too bright, but I think it'll be great. My table and countertops have a beige swirl in them, the door is tan, the furnace cover gold and the floor a tan lino, so I decided to contrast all those gold/beige tones with pure white walls. Hopefully the effect isn't too stark! You can check out the results on my blog, haveglamperwilltravel.blogspot.ca.

  2. And p.s. I'm really having trouble deciding on curtain fabric (I've posted a few choices on my blog, based on what I had in my stash and some cute tea towels I found), so if you have any thoughts, please feel free to share them!
    Cheers,

  3. Hi Adrienne, I painted Cottage White on my pine hutch in my kitchen at home, also. It must be a popular choice! I purchased all my fabric and the white matches the colors in the fabric perfectly. When I go shopping, for fabric or decor, you wont believe all the swatches I have with me to hold them up to! I can't wait to get to the sewing the curtains part. I wish we didn't have to do a whole body off and walls out kind of remodel and that I could just get to the decorating fun part!! But I know it will be worth it in the long run by doing it right. ;-)
ps. I checked out your blog and love your tea towels! So cute! I can see why you really would like to use them. But I also love the red gingham. Only because you have white everywhere now which makes a great blank canvas, I would add the fabrics with the most color and probably limit the fabrics that are mostly white. But just an opinion, looks like your doing great yourself and I can't wait to see Bing all done up!!
